Kärcher Vacuums: Powerful Performance—Until Parts Give Out

I like Kärcher vacuum cleaners. Their efficient, solid design and versatile attachments make cleaning everything—from carpets to car interiors—a breeze. In fact, I own two different models: one with a water filter and a more compact one with a membrane filter. On paper, Kärcher seems like the perfect choice, but in practice, there’s a significant catch: replacement parts can be nearly impossible to obtain.

Even something as simple as a filter can bring your machine to a grinding halt. During my second purchase of a Kärcher product at MEG A LIMPIO, I was told they didn't have replacement filters in stock but assured me they would arrive by January 2025. It’s now July 2025, and they still don't have filters available—and probably never will.

My first Kärcher vacuum had a water filtration system; when the tank cracked, I needed a replacement. Predictably, there was no replacement tank available. Later, the hose split and cracked—again, no replacement was available.

With my second purchase, I opted for a regular vacuum with a membrane filter, assuming these filters would be easily obtainable. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I was sold a filter that I was assured was correct, but it didn't fit. When I returned to exchange it, they initially refused a refund. Only after demanding to speak to a manager and attracting a small crowd did they finally provide a refund, promising they'd look into obtaining the correct filter and would contact me within three days. Unsurprisingly, I never received a follow-up call, nor did I expect one.

Unfortunately, I will not purchase another Kärcher product until they properly support their vacuums with readily available spare parts.
